GET TO KNOW THE PROGRAM
History doesn’t just tell us where we’ve been, it helps us imagine where we’re going. At Acadia, you’ll study the forces, ideas, and people that have shaped our world, from ancient civilizations to the challenges of the modern era. Along the way, you’ll learn to think critically, write persuasively, and recognize patterns and perspectives that make sense of today’s global issues. You’ll build skills in research, writing, and analysis, but also in empathy, curiosity, and creative problem-solving.
In small, discussion-based classes, you’ll connect closely with professors who know your name and push you to dig deeper. You can explore everything from the histories of race, medicine, gender, and war to the evolution of science, law, and the environment. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with digital humanities tools and research methods that bring the past to life in new ways.
With the flexibility to complete an Honours thesis or simply follow your curiosity, you’ll graduate with the insight, creativity, and clarity to understand the world and help shape its next chapter.
